The Butterfly® pads are a God Send. I highly recommend them for anyone who has a problem with anal leakage.I had the total of my large intestine removed due to an extensive perforation. I have a permanent ileostomy (an external ostomy bag) and a residual 1″ of rectum with no connection. For anyone with an ileostomy, a rectal stump can be a nuisance and source of irritation – the rectal stump continues to produce serous fluids and mucus that exits without discretion. Before the Butterfly pad, I was at a loss as to how to handle the discharge. Female pant liners were more problematic than helpful. Great invenetion! I have Crohn’s disease, and do not always know if I will have a leak. These are fantastic, especially for long trips. I have no discomfort from them, they peel off easily, and keep undies clean. Much more effective than my attempts at temporary fixes or panti liners. Wish I’d invented them!
Not for my use I was very excited to try this product, thinking it wouldprotect my underwear from leakage. Instead, this small pad isdesigned to fit between the butt cheeks, and the tape adheres toyour skin! This is very unpleasant. Also, they charged around$15.00 for a box…..if you change this a few times each day, it willalso be inordinately expensive. I would not buy this again.
