FYI – MOLD will grow in these pads over long term use and if they aren’t washed immediately when wet… I have been using these pads since the birth of our daughter in June 2015. Overall I have really liked them as they are super soft and incredibly absorbent (especially the overnight pads). I want to share some important feedback though for the overnight pads in particular. I noticed that around the 6 month mark of using the overnight pads that there was a small dark spot, even after washing, but ignored it. Shortly after, I then noticed that there was a slight “firmness” in the center of the pad, even after washing, which made me a little suspicious. I recalled reading one review on here that stated that her pad grew mold, but I continued using the pad. At this point (9 months of usage of the pad), it now had a very distinct firmness in the center of the pad, even after washing. I also could clearly see a dark haze. So I decided that I needed to cut the pad open to see… (please see photo). The pad most definitely had been growing mold. I know this is gross to see…
Awesome product! I LOVE bamboobies! I wish I had them for my first child.I have to admit that I only use them at night. I will use the heart shaped, light flow ones at night too. I like to use disposable pads during the day because they don’t move around on me.However for nighttime pads these are wonderful. They are incredibly soft and shockingly absorbent. I have a generic set of pads that I use sometimes that are not nearly as soft and they are much thicker, but not even close to being as absorbent.If I don’t leak much at night I will let them air dry and wear them again, but if Iran very much I really have to machine wash them before wearing again. They lose their softness after they have been wet with milk so the machine wash really gets them soft again.I just wash them on cold with my other laundry and it seems to work fine.The package came with three heart shaped sets of pads and one over night pair.
Soft but not absorbent This is a review of the combo pack with both light use daytime pads as well as the nighttime pads.I was looking for a replacement to disposable pads and saw an ad for these in a magazine. I do not really like the light absorbent pads. First of all, the pad does not stay in place. I notice it shifting all the time. This leads to little leaks coming through my bra onto my shirt. Also, even when it does stay in place, I don’t feel as though it absorbs very well. I don’t generally have a heavy letdown and I have leaked through more than once. I will say that it is soft against your skin, which feels nice and lays nicely under clothing. As for the thicker, nighttime pad, I feel like it does not lay flat against my skin and it also moves around. If for some reason I leave it on throughout the morning, it does not lay smoothly under a shirt. Very bulky and the shape is not conforming. Overall, not too pleased with either set of these pads.
