Not just for babies :), can use for small incontinent dogs. I have 2 incontinent toy poodles and it took me many experiential attempts to find a solution that was reliable and prevented unwanted accidents. I use wiki wag dog wraps and line them with these. They are silky soft, lightweight but very absorbent (at least, in my case). I did try other brands but these are less bulky and softer to the touch and I greatly preferred them. For use with babies, I can’t tell you the extent to which I feel they wick moisture but I have had no irritation on my dogs…
